Dr. William Gillum

VP Research and Operations

Dr. Gillum has more than 20 years of experience in process design research & development, including the invention of several novel manufacturing processes for telecommunications equipment and on-site technology transfer and process start-up. Prior to joining TerraCycle, he worked on the technical staff at Bell Laboratories since 1978, first as part of AT&T and later Lucent Technologies.

In his work at Bell, Dr. Gillum enabled AT&T to comply with government environmental mandates by eliminating ozone-depleting substances from manufacturing, while maintaining high quality cleaning processes. He most recently specialized in supply chain optimization and outsourcing strategies for complex technical manufacturing operations, chemical waste stream strategies and environmental regulatory compliance.

Dr. Gillum earned a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from MIT, a BS from Washington State University, an MS from Indiana University, and was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University.
