Bryan Chen
Director of Logistics
Bryan Chen joined TerraCycle in October 2004 when it first opened its office in Ithaca, NY. Prior to joining TerraCycle, Bryan majored in biology with a concentration in Molecular & Cell Biology at Cornell University. As a student, his involvements were quite diverse across campus, ranging from serving as the Co-President for the Biology Student Curriculum Council to working for New York NASA Space Grant in the Department of Astronomy. He was also the Co-Chair of CU Tsunami Relief in 2005, which spearheaded fundraisers and various other awareness and educational events for the Cornell community. Trained in the sciences, Bryan's research experiences in biology include a research fellowship at UC Irvine in 2003, and a fellowship at Cornell sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) in 2004. He has also attended several conferences, including an international Gordon Conference in 2002 as a Young Investigator.
In his spare time Bryan likes to run, read, listen to music, ski, and play guitar. Under the tutelage of TerraCycle co-founder Jon Beyer, Bryan has recently been lured into the world of cycling. Bryan has always been a naturalist and active in community service. He has been the recipient of awards such as the American Legion Award (2001), Target All-Around Scholarship (2001), Kiwanis Club Scholarship (2001) and Bellevue Rotary Scholarship (2001). As a member of the TerraCycle team, he offers his various experiences to help change the public perception on capitalism and garbage. Bryan's current main projects at TerraCycle's HQ include producing the upcoming TerraCycle Infomercial, and organizing the logistics and strategies to bring TerraCycle into stores nationally across US and Canada.
