Brian Young

Brian comes to Terracycle with over 35 years of experience in education. He has developed and taught innovative programs focusing on creativity at every level from kindergarten to college, starting with one of the earliest media literacy and filmmaking credit courses in Toronto high schools. He helped organize and successfully ran one of the few long-standing annual festivals of student-made film and video in Toronto. He has also done freelance work in video production.

Brian’s involvement in the field of communications has included the editorship of a wide-ranging publication of news and ideas for teachers to more recent work in web-based communication. He spearheaded the first online registration system that supported a professional development program for over five thousand educators. He also helped develop the framework for an internet-based fundraising business for non-profit organizations.

For the last several years he has also been partner with his wife, Shaunie, in a design and printing business specializing in fine letterpress work.
