Kroger
stores in Metro Richmond are currently testing an organic
plant food manufactured by TerraCycle, Inc., known informally
as the “worm poop” plant food, a fertilizer that comes ready
to use with no mixing required.
TerraCycle's
All-Purpose Plant Food is the first product to be sold at
Kroger stores that is not only made from garbage but also
packaged in garbage. TerraCycle Plant Foods are made from
organic waste that is composted by worms, liquefied and
packaged in reused soda bottles.
The used 20-ounce.
soda bottles used to package TerraCycle Plant Foods are
collected through the TerraCycle Bottle Brigade™, a nationwide
recycling program composed of more than 3,600 schools,
churches and other community groups that collect used soda
bottles. For every bottle they collect TerraCycle donates five
cents to a non-profit organization of their choice. The
program has enabled TerraCycle to rescue and reuse over two
million soda bottles and donate more than $50,000 to
non-profit organizations.

Brigade, visit www.terracycle.net/bb.
