Associate Manager of Retail Activation

We are looking for an outgoing and highly-organized team member to take on the role of Associate Manager of Retail Activation. The candidate will work closely with our Director of Retail Activation and our corporate brand partners with the goal of establishing the TerraCycle sustainability initiative at the world’s largest retailers. Primary responsibilities include pitch meetings and conference calls with our brand and retail partners where you will recommend ways that the brand can highlight our partnership. The ideal scenario is one in which our brand partners see return-on-investment for highlighting the TerraCycle partnership, the retailer gets to offer some differentiation in their in-store programming, and the TerraCycle logo is featured prominently on the brand’s in-store materials.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the retail activation aspect of TerraCycle’s brand partnerships, which includes (but it not limited to) working with sales teams to bring a new and exciting sustainability program to our partners’ retail accounts
  • Create and maintain project plans and strategies for each of TerraCycle’s brand partners, both domestic and international
  • Work toward achieving revenue and profit goals set forth by the Director of Retail Activation and the Vice President of Brigades
  • Prepare presentations, briefs, and one-pagers that will be reviewed internally prior to being shared externally
  • Work hand-in-hand with the individual Account Mangers to ensure that TerraCycle’s brand partners are being managed to the highest degree
  • Make recommendations to the Director of Retail Activation for creative ways by which a brand can activate around the TerraCycle partnership • Develop knowledge and expertise of all our clients’ businesses, as well as their competitors and industry trends
  • Act as support and “go-to” point for ad hoc requests from Senior Marketing and Public Relations colleagues, as well as the Account Management team
  • Schedule and attend internal and external reviews and strategy sessions for our brand partners and their retail teams
  • On an ongoing basis, check in with all brands and be sure that they are properly leveraging the partnership at multiple key accounts
  • Provide detailed directions to the TerraCycle Creative team so that they may create graphics, flyers, and other visuals that will help you to sell the program you are pitching
  • Act as a liaison between our brand partners and other TerraCycle departments as needed
  • Update a tracking sheet on a weekly basis to mark progress, meetings, and other conversations with each of our brand partners

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required, advance degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in client/account management with a proven track record
  • Fluency in retail and sales terminology preferred
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Exceptional verbal and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise documents to share externally
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy and commitment to the client while managing expectations
  • Self-starter with proactive follow-up tendencies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment with an open floor plan
  • Extreme proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Compensation:

  • Annual salary of $35,000
