Cork Brigade

TerraCycle wants to save millions of corks from going into landfills. We are recruiting wine enthusiasts, restaurants, bars, tasting wineries and anyone else who has used corks to help. As an eco-friendly innovator, TerraCycle will be "upcycling" used corks - both natural and synthetic - into cool products that will be available nationally at major retailers.

Participating in the Cork Brigade is easy! All you have to do is mail corks to TerraCycle! If you have lots of corks, we will help you with the shipping if you sign up online. Once you have signed up for the Cork Brigade, you will receive an activation email with instructions. Once your account is activated, you are free to begin sending corks to TerraCycle.

Sending in corks for the Cork Brigade is easy:

If you are an individual:

Once you have collected a number of corks (anywhere from 5 - 50), you can mail them to TerraCycle in a variety of ways: Make sure you write "Cork Brigade" on the container in big letters to help us sort the packages!

Less than 10 corks:

Send them to TerraCycle in a normal paper envelope (recycled is best!) or upcycle a used package, like a used potato chip bag that has been washed and turned inside out, a cereal box liner, etc. 10 corks or less will need about $.59 in postage

20 corks or less:

Send them to TerraCycle in a large envelope or small upcycled container. Twenty corks will need about $1.34 in postage

25-100 corks:

Use an upcycled container (like a used chip bag that has been washed and turned inside-out, a cereal liner, a used coffee bag, etc.) 30 corks will need about $1.68 in postage, 50 corks will need about $2.36, and 100 will need about $5.00 in posatge.

More than 100 corks or more than one mailing per month:

If you will be sending us a high volume of corks you may qualify to receive prepaid return shipping labels!

To sign up, please click here. Once you have responded to the confirmation email, all you have to do is start collecting corks! Because you can send them in to us at any point - whether you’ve collected 5 corks or 105 corks - this program is extremely easy to participate in. Please refer to the FAQ’s before signing up.
