General Information

What kinds of tape dispensers and cores are acceptable?
The following are examples of acceptable tape dispensers and cores. Please keep in mind we donate $0.02 to your designated charity for each Scotch® Tape Dispenser or Core approved.

Who can sign up for the Scotch® Tape Brigade?
We welcome anyone (18 years or older) from a school or organization to join in on our efforts to save tape dispensers and cores from landfills! There are some practical considerations your school or organization should keep in mind. We are collecting only Scotch® Clear Tape Dispensers and Cores.

What do I need to sign up for the Scotch® Tape Brigade?
Signing up for the Scotch® Tape Brigade Program is easy!
You will need a contact person to administer the program, Scotch® Clear Tape Dispensers and Cores and a 501(c)3 charity (and their Tax ID #), or you can select our default charity. You will also need a valid e-mail address to receive a confirmation letter and valid mailing address to receive materials.

I signed up for the program, but I haven’t received a confirmation e-mail. What should I do?
Please check to see if your confirmation e-mail from customersupport@terracycle.net was sent to your spam or junk mail, BUT DO NOT SIGN UP AGAIN. Please email customersupport@terracycle.net with subject line: No Confirmation E-mail, along with your phone number. Someone will contact you and fix the situation.

Can my school or organization sign up more than once?
No. Each individual and organization, including schools, can only have one Scotch® Tape Brigade account. Any additional accounts will be suspended. However more than one brigade can benefit a single school. If you have any questions please contact customersupport@terracycle.net for clarification.

What if my information changes or needs to be updated?
If for any reason you need to change or update your information, please select the collect tab (located on your profile) and then simply click edit this team. lf you still need assistance or have questions please contact Customer Support at 1-866–967–6766 option 1 or email customersupport@terracycle.net and someone will be glad to assist you.

Is there a minimum quantity of tape dispensers and cores to collect before my school or charity will receive a check?
Terracycle sends donations twice a year; in December and June; In December, only Donations larger than $5 will be sent. In June, all donations will be sent, regardless of size. We suggest 100 Scotch® Clear Tape Dispensers and Cores as a minimum.

I've sent collections in to benefit a charity. Why didn’t I receive a check?
Assuming your collections met the minimum requirement stated above, charity checks are mailed DIRECTLY to the designated charity, not to the individual. Charities will receive a check in June for collections received between November-April. Charities will receive a check in December for collections received between May-October.

I forgot to select a charity during sign up. Can I still select one?
Yes. Please call 1-866-967-6766 and press option 1 or email customersupport@terracycle.net with the charity name, address, contact person and Tax ID #. Additionally you can also select charity through the Terracycle Scotch® Tape Brigade website.

Can I switch my charity?
Yes. Please call 1-866-967-6766 and press option 1 or email customersupport@terracycle.net with the charity name, address, contact person and Tax ID #. Additionally you can also switch your charity through the Terracycle Scotch® Tape Brigade website.

SHIPPING

Do I have to pay for shipping?
Nope! All the bags are mailed to you at our expense and come with UPS return labels, which will bring your Scotch® Tape collections back to 3M.

Do I need to clean the tape dispensers and cores before shipping?
We ask that you remove the residue from the core as much as possible; however this step is NOT required.

How do I ship the Scotch® Clear Tape Dispensers and Cores back to you?
There are two options to ship the Scotch® Tape Dispenser and Core back to us:
Option # 1
If you would like to download your own pre-paid ups return label simply click the “Get Mailing Labels” icon and select “Scotch® Tape Brigade” under the drop down menu. Then select “Print My Label Now” and a label will automatically print out from your printer. Simply affix the label to your shipping box (no larger than a carry-on bag or small microwave) and drop off at your local UPS store Please do not call UPS to schedule a custom pickup. Visit http://www.ups.com/dropoff?loc=en_US to find a drop off location if your location does not have regular UPS service.
Option #2
1. If you would like to receive 4 collections bags and 4 pre-paid ups return labels simply click “Get Mailing Labels” icon and select “Scotch® Tape Brigade” under the drop down menu. Then select “Send me a shipping label”. You will be mailed (to your mailing address) 4 collection bags which can hold 100 tape dispensers and cores each and 4 UPS return labels. It should take roughly 2-3 weeks for you to receive your collection materials. You will only receive 4 more collection bags if you return bags to us and our records indicate that you only have 2 bags remaining. The sooner you return your bags full with packages, the faster we can send bags out.

What if I never received any bags?
If you have not received bags within 5 weeks of initial sign up, please do not hesitate to call Brigade Services at 1-866-967-6766 and press option 1 or email us at customersupport@terracycle.net. We may need to verify your shipping information for tracking purposes.

Is there a limit to how many boxes or shipping bags I can send in?
Currently there are no limits. However, please keep in mind the realities of the 2-3 week processing, credit and shipping times, etc. This program is designed for low-volume, steady streams of packages.

I checked my status. Why is it incorrect?
Please check back frequently to see your status update. If there is a serious problem with collections/donations status please call Brigade Services at 1-866-967-6766 or e-mail customersupport@terracycle.net.

Our organization is done collecting tape dispensers and cores, can we unsubscribe?
To unsubscribe, return all bags you currently have with Scotch® Clear Tape Dispensers and Cores along with any extra UPS bags to TerraCycle, and then please contact us to unsubscribe.
